Canceled Batman Game Starring Damian Wayne Leaks

A leak has been recently discovered about a canceled Batman game that was said to have featured Damian Wayne as the main character. The game was originally conceived by developer WB Games Montreal but was ultimately scrapped for unknown reasons. Fortunately, the leak has shed new light on what could have been a thrilling addition to the Batman game franchise.

According to the leak, the game was to be titled “Gotham Knights” and would have followed a younger Damian Wayne as the new Caped Crusader. Damian Wayne, for those not familiar with the Batman comics, is the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul. He has been portrayed as a highly skilled and trained vigilante who has struggled with his aggressive and impulsive nature. This dynamic and complex character was meant to be the focal point of the game, bringing a fresh take on the iconic Batman character.

What Was Project Sabbath?

• Being the fifth game in the Arkhamverse, Project Sabbath, internally codenamed, was going to be a game developed by the WB Games Montreal, following Barkman: Arkham Knight, and would take place about ten years later, in a near-future Gotham that drew similarities to the scene of Batman Beyond.

• Work is said to have been stalled since circa 2017, with Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League reappropriating their assets and ideas.

• The leaked image of an artist on the WB Montrl team Rodrigue Pralier shows Damian Wayne as the Batman in the field, in shiny, armored, batman-beyond type bat-suit with red accents of his symbol emblem on 

• An even older Bruce Wayne appears, older, bearded, walking with a cane, scarred and no longer in the front line as the hero of Gotham.

Villains And The Depravity Of Gotham

• the art provides a more sombre, dystopian Gotham and introduces villains like Killer Croc, Huntress, an older Two-Face (reimagined as The Judge), Gorilla Grodd, a new Black Mask and Poison Ivy, as well as White Rabbit gamerant.com+7techtimes.com+7reddit.com+7.

• The image of Gotham is run-down and dark, which may have been caused by economic deterioration as well as an increased crime rate due to Bruce Wayne losing it all in finances

Innovations Gameplay

• There are clues of a Nemesis-scenario-type (a la Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor) and a Batcycle/Batbike as a means of transportation being added to the game arkhamcity.fandom.com.

• We only have a sketch of this story, but the speculation is that Damian is in a Batman that bridged Bruce and a future Batman-led Gotham by Terry McGinnis.

Who knows What Happened to Project Sabbath?

• The project was canceled, probably in consideration of the live-service focus on the game, such as Gotham Knights, released in 2022 with mixed reviews techtimes.com+1arkhamcity.fandom.com+1.

• Sabbath assets, such as concept art, characters, could have found their way to subsequent WB Montreal and Rocksteady games, such as Suicide Squad.

• There is no official indication as to whether the Arkham storyline is going to be reverted to by Rocksteady or WB games.
