Apple’s latest iOS 26 beta update promises to revolutionize the user experience with its innovative Liquid Glass Interface. The tech giant has been working on this new interface for several years, and the latest beta 2 release shows significant improvements in its performance and functionality.
TORONTO, ONTARIO Apple introduced iOS 26, a significant update that will transform the user experience with a stunning new design, powerful intelligence, and enhanced out-of-the-box apps that are so easy to use and so fun to interact with. The new design gives a more expressive and mirthful sensation throughout the system as well as the innate familiarity of iOS. Built into the system and ground up designed with privacy, Apple Intelligence becomes even more capable. The latest changes to Phone and Messages apps allow them to stay in touch and avoid distractions, such as undesired calls.
iOS 26 is breathtaking with the fresh new look and substantive enhancements to the functionalities, making iPhone even more useful, said Craig Federighi, Apple senior vice president of Software Engineering. The experience is more expressive and personal, as is the Lock Screen and Home Screen, and new functions in Phone and Messages that allow people to concentrate on the relationships that are most important to them. And new Apple Intelligence powers built into the system make it easier than ever to get things done.
A New Stunning Appearance
The new design brings the system and apps to life and makes them more expressive and joyful, without making iOS a completely new thing. the control, navigation, icon and widgets and many more. The new interface also spreads to the Home Screen and Lock Screen and they are more personal and expressive than before. Liquid Glass also introduces fresh elemnts of customization on an app icons and a widgets, such as beautiful transparent appearance.
The time flows freely on the Lock Screen according to the available area in an image, whereas spatial scenes animate wallpapers with a 3D effect visibly making fresh wallpapers on moving iPhone. Â The simplified, sleeker layout of the Camera also allows the user to focus his/her attention on the scene he/she is shooting, and the Photos app is redesigned to include individual tabs of Library and Collections views. The pages in Safari scroll downwards rather than upwards on the list of the most dominant actions such as refresh and search visible to the user. The tab bar is redesigned to freely float over the content users need in Apple Music, News and Podcasts and appears dynamically downsized when users are browsing with the purpose of bringing the content to the forege and back to its full height when users scroll back up.
A newer group of APIs offers a developers access to Liquid Glass materials and components to ensure that they make their apps look no less dynamic and delightful.
Apple Intelligent Capabilities
Apple Intelligence takes the iPhone experience to higher levels and allows people to accomplish things in an easier way than before, and open up new communication. Live Translation is also implemented in Messages, FaceTime, and Phone to assist users to communicate when they speak different languages, translating text and audio instantly.
On top of Apple Intelligence, visual intelligence expands to an iPhone screen of the user so that he/she is able to search and act on whatever he/she is seeing in any application. Users can query ChatGPT on what they see on the screen to know more, search Google, Etsy, or other compatible apps to locate similar images and products. Visual intelligence is also able to sense that a user is browsing an event and recommends him/her to add it directly to his/her calendar, replenishing some major details such as date, time, and place.2
Staying-connected features and interruption reduction features
It is essential to iPhone user experience, where Phone app now has the unified interface allowing to see Favorites, Recents, and Voicemails mixed together. Call Screening is a new feature that provides improvements on the Live Voicemail to help reduce interruption by providing the user with the caller information that could help him or her know whether to pick or leave the call.6 And call hold when the user is on hold will alert the user when a real person is available.
The carplay improvements
Over 600 million times per day, people use CarPlay a smarter, safer way to use iPhone in car; and now with the release of iOS 26, it has gained improvements turning it to be more beautiful and easy to use. Its beautiful design encompasses a new, compact view when receiving calls so that the recipient can instantly identify who is calling without missing any important information such as the suggested directions ahead. iOS 26 also introduces Tapbacks and pinned conversations to Messages in CarPlay, and with the introduction of widgets and Live Activities, users are able to be on top of the latest information without getting distracted on the road.
